Oh Maggie

Slight interruption of updating, to share some new "Maggieisms"

 

Loving:
 "Carry you me"- translation, "Carry me".  It used to just be "Carry you" but then we said, "No, carry YOU"....so she added the me for good measure....LOL

The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song-
Correct: "M-I-C-K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E, Come inside, it's fun inside"
Maggie Re-mix: "M-I-C-K-E-1, M-O-U-S-B, Come inside, come inside"

"Call Me Maybe"
Correct: "Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number call me maybe" (like you don't know the lyrics....LOL)
Maggie's version: "Hey, I just met you, and YOU'RE crazy, but here's my number call me MAYME!!!!"  (super emphasis on the MAYME)

The little negotiator:
"How about....Mickey, Beast, Nemo, Sleeping Beauty?"  Basically she goes through every show/movie to see if one is the magic one that you will let her watch....And she does it with finger pointed, mainly palm up and close to her face....guess it makes the request more appealing?!?!?

"I have an idea....how 'bout Mickey!" Said to the hubs while I was tutoring

And while we were in Disney, she would go to everyone trying to get the answer she wanted.....
"PopPop, how 'bout Mickey?"
"Nana, how 'bout Mickey?".....and on and on....

Not enjoying:
"Gimme that!"  as she grabs something out of our hands....no idea where she heard this one, but we are nipping that right in the bud!

Ok, so mostly cute....LOL.  Still have to update from our beach trip at the beginning of last month and of course, DISNEY!  Coming super soon!!!

Maggie's 1st Haircut

Hello! So another fun and rather important milestone that we accomplished a couple weeks ago, was getting Maggie's 1st haircut.

Now I think we could all agree that Maggie doesn't have a ton of hair.  When she was born, the first thing the Dr. said when he held her up was, "We got a cueball here!".  LOL

So the little bit of hair that Mags has now has been a long time coming and we didn't want to do anything crazy, but we did have quite a mullet situation going on. We explained the situation to my MIL's hair stylist and she agreed that a little trim would probably remedy the problem.

I present for your consideration, a glimpse into our future...about 13 years down the road...."Mom, please....."

And now for the hair, as you can see her bangs were in her eyes....

And she also has a shorter layer growing on top....Oh and about 50 bajillion cowlicks....

So we made our way over to the hair salon.  I had a feeling that this would not be a ton of fun for Mags, so we had Mickey cued up on Daddy's phone. 

Nope, didn't want to sit in the seat by herself.  I didn't think she would, but I thought we could give it a try....

This was the main problem....Mags kept turning her head to see what was going on....honestly, I have no idea how the stylist did it!  LOL

 And here are the results...

Overall, I think it turned out great.  She wasn't too traumatized and it came out really cute. 

So now that the school year is upon us, I am back to tutoring.  Mostly reading and writing help.  I did some GED test prep over the summer, but I have never done anything like GMAT prep.  I try to stick to things that I know a lot about and the GMAT is not one of them!  I am happy to get back to my tutoring and helping my students.

The Final 2nd Birthday Party

So last, but assuredly not least, we had a third 2nd birthday for Mags with our PA family and friends.
And since it was two weeks before we went to Disney, we did the Mickey theme one more time.
We had so much fun and were happy to have a lot of people to help us celebrate!

Maggie's betrothed...our friends called dibs before I even got pregnant...looks promising...LOL

As I said, a great time!

Sesame Street 2nd Birthday

Hello there!

Catching up here....

On Sunday, July 29th we were in MD visiting family and we celebrated Mag's birthday with them.  We decided on a Sesame Street theme, since she loves that almost as much as Mickey.  It was a beautiful day and a lot of people were able to come and help us celebrate.  Unfortunately, I was so busy catching up with some people that I hadn't seen in awhile, so I didn't take as many pics as I should have....But here is what I did get....

Hola

Hey Everyone! So sorry for the crickets, but things have been a little hectic around here lately.  I have some things in the hopper that I hope pan out, and I hate to sound cryptic, but I don't want to jinx it.

So anyways, a ton has happened since the last update.....
I have two more 2nd birthday parties to share, Mag's first haircut, and our beach trip this past weekend.
But I am really drained and exhausted right now, so I will write those fun posts up over the week and hopefully have them scheduled for when we are in.....DISNEY!  Cause, oh yeah, only 4 more days until that happens.
So while I am doing laundry, checking off lists and packing, I leave you with this little gem....

Monday afternoon we were coming home from the beach, we had been in the car a LOOOOOONG time and we were all getting a little punchy.  It was quiet and Brian belched, quite loudly....without missing a beat, from the backseat we hear a little voice pipe up with, "Excuuuuuuuuse you, Daddy!".  Oh Maggie.....seriously? This kid slays me!

And then this.....

 

I swear to oh my goodness, I had NO part in this, she threw a fit and wanted to take "her" purse to get ice cream and where she learned to carry it like, you got me.....LOL

2nd Birthday: The Actual Day

Last Friday, the 27th was Maggie's actual birthday.  I'm not sure if she realized this, with all the birthday parties that she has had, but we tried to make it extra special for her "real" birthday....

We started the morning off with balloons.  I wanted Mags to wake up and walk out of her room to a hallway filled with balloons.  One for the celebration aspect and also because Mags LOVES her "balaloons"....



Next we had a little photo shoot for the 2nd birthday.  So far, we have taken a pic on the actual day and that is something that I will always want to do! Then it was off to a special breakfast at the local diner with Daddy and Mommy!  Brian was able to go in a little late to work that day and it was so much fun!

 

Then Daddy had to go to work and we had a few calls from some birthday well wishers.  Then we decided to head over to the Disney Store aka "The Mickey Store" as Mags calls it.  I won a Disney gift card and I thought it would be fun to head over there and let Mags pick out one thing.  

Little did I know how much fun we would have!  I should have known that the Disney store would do it right.  I had Mags wear a "Birthday Girl" shirt that my mom got her, but not one person said anything to her at the diner (I get it, they might have thought that she was really liked the shirt, and that it might not have been her actual birthday, but still....LOL).  That was not the case at the Disney store.  The minute we walked in, one of the cast members caught a glimpse of Mag's shirt and asked me "Do we have a birthday girl here?"  and I said, "Yep, today is her birthday!".  "Oh, then let's have a party!"

They gave her a crown and gathered everyone around to sing "Happy Birthday" to her.  Then they gave everyone a coloring sheet as a party favor for "attending" Maggie's party....it was perfect!  Then we ran around looking at everything, Mags was in heaven!  She got a plush Donald and Daisy, a clearance Minnie/Mickey t-shirt and a new Minnie plate and water bottle.  Mags really enjoyed herself and we were not happy about having to leave.....LOL.

After that we went home had lunch, and then nap time.  When she got up from her nap, Daddy was home and it was time to get on the road.  So we had birthday dinner at Wendy's....

 

After that it was off to Grammy and Poppy's for the weekend for Mag's second 2nd birthday party!
