Holiday Cards 2012

Okey Dokey, now that Halloween is over, the next thing to think about are the Holiday cards!  Now before you blast me for skipping over Thanksgiving, that's not my intention.  But let's be honest, in order to create a really special card to send out, you have to start planning and thinking about it before Thanksgiving rolls around.  It's not disrespect, just being organized....LOL.  I like to get these puppies out in the mail by December 1st, so there is no time to dally!!!

I love Shutterfly for all my Photo Christmas Cards and gift needs and this year, they once again deliver with a lot of great choice.

Here are some of the contenders for this year's card:

I have some tough choices ahead of me!  They are all so cute, I have no idea how I am going to decide...And THAT'S why I start thinking about our holiday cards before Thanksgiving!

Don't forget to check out Shutterfly's Special offer page here.

Hope that you are having a great day!

Halloween 2012

So I know this is about a week late, but first there was Sandy and then there was my birthday, so here's the Halloween post....LOL!

As for Sandy, we really lucked out that we only lost power for about 6 hours total on Monday.  It was annoying, but nothing compared to the devastation elsewhere.  And the shore house in Brigantine, also made it through the storm relatively unscathed....we feel really blessed and fortunate.

Brian's school was closed until Thursday and my tutoring was closed as well.  I was curious what effect it would all have on Halloween.  I know that shouldn't be a real concern, but we had been talking to Mags about Halloween for over a month and I knew she would enjoy it, so I wanted her to have the chance, but of course, I would have understood if it was canceled or rescheduled.   But once again lucky for us, Halloween was on!

I hadn't said anything to Mags about Trick or Treating until I got the word that it was a go, and then when I brought it up she got super excited.  We decided to head out while it was still light out and we saw other kids out and about, so we followed suit.
Mags wasn't a fan of the ears and they kept falling off anyway, so we just put them on for a quick pic...

This is Mags inspecting her pumpkin and informing me that it is "hempty"...
Mags was really on board this year, and seemed to understand it.  She knew to go up to the houses and knock on the doors.  We had to remind her to say "Trick or Treat", she would normally say "Please".  She always said, "Thank you" and "Happy Halloween".  We did have to discuss only taking one piece of candy when the bowl was offered, but she got it after awhile.

In my opinion, we made it to a lot of houses for a two year old.  I think she would have pushed herself to go to more houses for "MORE CANDY" (which she kept yelling) but we could tell that she was fading.  Escpecially when she asked me to "Carry you me", I knew she was done.  I offered that Daddy could carry her pumpkin if she was tired, but as Brian said, "There's no way she's letting go of that candy!!!".
We made it home and inspected the loot.  Mags had one piece, a bath and then it was off to bed.  Overall, a VERY successful Halloween.  So. much. fun!

Hope you're having a great day!

Friday Randoms

Hola Compadres!  Sorry I've been a little MIA this week, it's just been....stuff....
But here I am with a quick wrap up from last weekend.

Last weekend was a doozy!  SUPAH busy and fun.
My mom and step-dad came over on Saturday and we spent the day at the park, went out to lunch and then hung out.  Just a couple of minutes after they left, our friends came over for a pumpkin carving party.  Then on Sunday, my sister came over to visit and then the weekend was gone.  It literally felt like I blinked, and then it was Monday.

As for this week, I am VERY glad it is over!  Tuesday, Mags had a major meltdown at a mom's group Halloween playgroup and then she had a suspicious sore on her face, that I rushed her to the Dr. for, to be told that it was probably just a pimple....nice.

The rest of the week has been a blur and I am so happy that is Friday!!!!  One highlight of the week, were some of my shows...New Girl made me absolutely cry laughing and I am completely in love with Nashville... I mean come on....

Also, I finished the book Wonder, and the ending made me cry, big happy tears.  It's an amazing book and I highly recommend it!!

As for this weekend, can I get a big WOOOHOOOO?  We have a relaxing night tonight, then tomorrow morning the in-laws are coming to take some of our stuff to storage and they're taking Mags for the night.  The Hubs and I are celebrating our anniversary and my birthday with dinner and a movie.  Then Sunday, it's over to the in-laws to celebrate my birthday.  WOOT!

What are your plans for the weekend?  Hope you have a great one!!!

"Pumpkin" Fun

Check Pumpkin Patch off the Fall Bucket List, we did it up right!
Saturday, we headed over to the same farm that we went to last year.  It is not technically a pumpkin patch, but we love the whole atmosphere, it's free unless you want to buy anything and they have horse drawn wagon.  I looked into the farm that we went to do when Maggie was an infant, and they want $10.95 per person just for admission, now granted they did have a few more things to do, but still...that is crazy!!!
There was a horse drawn wagon, yummy cookies and hay maze fun.  The only thing is, it was a little crowded and in all the hubbub, we forgot to get a pumpkin....oh well, we just have to get one before this weekend, when we have some friends over for a pumpkin carving party...LOL.
You know I can't resist....LOL

We had SOOOO much fun!!!

Super happy on the wagon ride!
Look at my two cuties!
Overall, a great time.  How was your weekend?  Hope you're having a great day!
