Your Three Words

AAACK! When the heck did this happen??? How in the world am I the mommy to a 10 month old?

And wait, I was an English major, but 2 months after 10 months is twelve months, right????

::runs away screaming::

Seriously people, I know....blah, blah, blah.....time flies by....But, um no one mentioned that it would fly by at the speed of light. Wasn't I just pregnant, like last week?

Nope, not last week, this was May 22,...2010.
P.S. I hate how the top of that curtain totally messes with my hair, but otherwise I really like this pic.

Alright, I guess I'm over it....So what has the little Magster been up to this month???

  • Still eating like a champ. You LOVE mac n' cheese and will eat just about anything that we give you, even veggies (maybe you won't take after your daddy).
  • Still sleeping like a champ. You wake up anywhere from 7:30-8:30am and right now depending on when you wake up, your morning nap is anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Same for your afternoon nap and the evening nap, I'm not sure because I am at work, but daddy says you are normally good about it. And then depending on whether I am working or not, you go to bed from 9-9:30pm.
  • You still love your jumper, but you are not too crazy about your exersaucer. You love the exersaucer at Grammy's because you can spin really fast it, which makes you squeal. (Ugh, I have visions of tea cups and Tilt-A-Whirls in my head, I feel sick already)
  • I think, we may have a scooter on our hands. No advancements in the crawling area, but honestly, I think part of the blame may lay with our non-carpeted floors and the fact that you slide all over the place. You are starting to figure out this scooting thing, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's how you choose to get around.
  • We are working on saying "Bye Bye" and you still love "So big" and Patty-cake.
  • You love to be read to and I think "Doggies" might be your favorite book right now because you seem really interested in all the different dogs barking (or maybe you think mommy sounds like a lunatic)
  • You have started to cuddle. When you are really excited sometimes it just overwhelms you and you burrow your head in our necks. Other times it is a ruse, because you really just want to get closer to mommy so you can inspect her necklace....you are obsessed with necklaces and bracelets, basically anything shiny.
Overall little girl, you are a wonder. You are so smart, joyful, cuddly, giggly, and everything that I could have ever wished for. Sometimes I worry (ok I worry all the time) but I know that you will get to where you need to be in your own time and I can't rush it. I love you so, so, so, so very much.

So to celebrate 10 months and also Memorial Day, we are heading to the beach. The weather is supposed to be amazing and I am uber excited.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Whatever they are, I hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday weekend!

Weekend Whirlwind

Seriously??? It's Monday already???

[Insert complaint about the weekend being WAAAAAAAAY too short]

This weekend starts a couple weekends of some non-stop fun for us. We had a wedding this weekend, we're "Heading down the shore, hon" for Memorial day weekend and then, you guessed it, another wedding the following weekend. Whew! I think I need a vacation from all this fun (OCMD mid June).

So what were we up to this weekend? We headed down south to celebrate the wedding of two of my high school classmates. I have been friends with Robin since we were in 10th grade and we worked at a local yogurt shop together. Adam I knew of in high school, but I never really hung out with. They ended up going to prom, basically as friends, and that was where the story ended....or so we thought.

I had no idea that they kept in touch through college and then when Robin moved back to our hometown, they met up, and they rest, as they say, is history. I have since gotten to know Adam a little bit better and I am so happy for these two crazy kids and I wish them all the best!

Another important part of the weekend was that Mags got to spend some quality time with her Grammy and Poppy. She really enjoyed herself and we all had an awesome weekend. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of Mags with Grammy or Poppy, but I did get some cute ones with my grandparents (her great-grandparents), who also came to visit!

What's that you say, Mommy?

I'm soooooooooo excited for the next couple of weekends and the summer in general. I have been looking forward to this summer for what seems like forever and this weekend is the official kick off. We have beach visits, 4th of July, pool fun, BBQs, a certain little sweetie's first birthday and a longer beach vacation on the agenda. Also, Mags isn't going to be taking any classes this summer (she deserves some time off after all her hard work at The Little Gym), and I declare this "The summer of Maggie and Mommy". During the week, to keep ourselves busy, we are going to travel around our little town and some other local areas (not too far because gas is totes expensive) and see what we can do to have fun. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear what you guys are planning this summer. Parks, picnics and pools, are going to be our mainstays, but we are open to other ideas!

Hope you are having a great Monday!

Rainy days and Mondays

Hola compadres! Coming at you from ANOTHER Monday. And after our sub-par weekend, Monday is definitely not welcome.

Brian hasn't been feeling well for awhile, but it all seemed to compound Friday night and by the end of the night he was saying that maybe he would get a Dr.s appointment, and when he says that you know that it is serious.

So Saturday morning I got up with Mags around 7:30 and waited impatiently for our Dr's office to open. I naively thought that maybe they would take phone calls before they opened at 9am, but alas not the case. I did finally reach them and they were able to see him at 9:45. I woke Brian at 9am and he went over the appointment. At around 9:50am, I got a text, "I'm a smorgasbord of infection, bacteria and allergies". Lovely, right?

He ended up with infected eyes, ears, throat, tonsils and a sinus infection, which all effected his asthma. Needless to say the weekend was spent nursing the hubs back to health and he says that he feels a lot better now.

In Magster news, a couple of new developments. She can now roll the ball back to you, stands holding on to something with one had and will occasionally give something to you on request. What a genius! Right!?!?!?

Sorry to say that I have only crappy cellphone pics for you today....

And this would be Mag's favorite game of peek-a-boo behind the bib. Seriously she cackles, she finds it so amusing....
Hope you're having a great Monday!

It's Friday, Friday

Quick update: Maggie is doing great after the accident on Tuesday. Like I said, you can't really even tell anything happened to her. Also, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words. I really appreciate it.

Now back to the sunshine and fluff....

First of all, TGIF. Very glad that this week is over.

Second, I am doing a little guest posting over at a sorta fairytale today. I talk about blogging and how I got into it, and I even explain how I came up with my blog name....very interesting stuff (well not really...LOL). Super shout out to Mandy for giving me this opportunity on her awesome blog!

Third, I am super tired because Stroller Bootcamp royally kicked my tush this morning, so no more words... just pictures.....

Mags and I spent some time outside yesterday, soaking up the beautiful weather.

Have a great weekend!

Shaken

I debated for quite some time whether I wanted to share this, and for whatever reason I've decided to bite the bullet and just do it. Yesterday Maggie rolled off her changing table. I turned my back for a couple of seconds and when I turned around she was on the floor. I have never been so terrified in my whole life. I completely went in to autopilot to scoop her up and then proceeded to lose my mind for a minute. When I got myself together I called Brian and then the Dr. They were able to see her right away and Brian would meet us there. That drive to the doctor's was horrible. I felt that I needed to keep her awake, in case of a concussion, and all she wanted to do was sleep because it was her nap time. I sang her name and babbled on to her and cried for her to please stay awake. Honestly I have no idea how I got to the office.
When we finally made it there, Brian pulled into the parking lot right behind us and I have never been so happy to see him. Maggie was happy to see him, too. She was smiling and laughing. The doctor checked her over and said that she looked fine and that we should keep her awake for the next couple of hours to keep an eye on her.
I spent the rest of the day in a daze and I am still reeling. Maggie is fine and if you didn't know about the fall, you wouldn't know any different.
You don't have to tell me that I am so lucky, I know it. Trust me, I have played out all the different scenarios in my head. Still, I would give anything to go back to the start of the day and strap her securely in to that changing pad.
I am not writing this for sympathy (although I do appreciate it) and if you want to chastise me, believe me there is nothing you can level at me that I haven't already thought. I am struggling with some major feelings of inadequacy and this is something that I am going to have to work through. The real reason that I decided to share was just to reiterate once again that it only takes a split second and I would never wish the terror that I went through on anyone.
I know that this blog is normally sunshine and fluff, but I really felt that this needed to be shared and if I can't do it here, then I am not being true to myself. Thank you.

My First Mother's Day

I couldn't have asked for anything better.....

It was a beautiful day weather wise, I got to sleep in, hubs cooked me an amazing breakfast AND dinner, he also baked me a scrumptious cake and I got to spend the entire day just loving and kissing on my sweet little girl. And like the cherry on a delicioso sundae, we made it to the park and it was splendorous......

And technically not from Mother's Day, but come on......I couldn't resist......

And finally as if my heart could take anymore, this was my mother's day gift from the Magster (aka the hubs did good)......

Now there is tangible proof that this little girl has my heart. To say that it was a magical day, would be the ultimate understatement.

Hope that all the mommies had a great day yesterday and that you are having a awesome Monday!

Your Three Words

Happy Mother's Day

Wow, I really can't believe that this weekend will be my first Mother's Day. I honestly never thought that this day would come. Last year I did get a very nice card from the hubs (on behalf of our little girl still incubating), but this year it will all be more real because she will be here with us to celebrate. And that is the best part...just having her here to snuggle and kiss on. I am just so blessed and tickled pink, to be her mommy.

Here are a few pics from our day outside yesterday....

Um excuse our CRAZY outfit, we had a little accident before we came out and I didn't want to waste another pair of pants, and I also wanted a lighter jacket...Oh well, she pulls it off!

AHHH yet another pattern...avert your eyes!!!

Sorry for the extreme close-up...But what do you think, any resemblance?

So here's wishing you all a wonderful Mother's Day. Hope your day is relaxing and everything you wished for. And of course, I can't miss this opportunity to say a big 'ol, "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!" to my mom. Mom, I am so lucky to be your daughter and Maggie is SUPER lucky to have you as her Grammy. We are so fortunate to have you in our lives.

Have a great weekend!

A Couple of Words Wednesday

So just a couple of words on this icky Wednesday. I forgot to mention that I won a giveaway over at She said and I got to choose one of Michelle's beautiful, handmade headbands. I chose one for Maggie (big surprise) and here she is modeling her awesome new headband.

Have a great Wednesday!

Wedding Fun Continues

So while many of you may have ended your Royal wedding festivities on Friday, we continued the fun by going to my cousin's wedding. It wasn't posh and pretentious, instead it was a great time!

We went down to my dad's on Friday and after a loooooooong drive we finally pulled in around 9pm. And of course Mags had JUST fallen asleep. So she was super psyched to be awakened, hungry and almost past her bed time. She warmed up a little once we got her fed, but she wasn't too happy about having to go back to sleep and miss all the fun. She did eventually fall asleep and thankfully slept through the night.

We were up the next morning at 7am and my dad and stepmom took care of Mags, while Brian and I got ready. We tried to leave around 10:30am, when Mags would normally go down for her morning nap, but she wasn't having any part of it. I really felt bad for her. I knew that she was out of sorts and also her second tooth was starting to make an appearance, and she must have been uncomfortable. We finally got on the road and I got a text from my stepmom saying she fell asleep as we were pulling out of the driveway.

With that load off my mind, we had a really nice time at the wedding. My cousin looked beautiful and it made me reminisce about our wedding day, not so long ago. We had a lot of fun hanging out with my family (as we always do) and it was nice to let loose a little bit.

When we got back to my dad's, I was so happy to see Maggie, as I had been thinking about her the whole time we were there (I may have spent some time showing people EVERY single picture of her in my phone). She fell asleep that night with no problem and my parents said that she was an angel the rest of the day.

It was a great weekend! And here is the proof....

The Bride and Groom

Bri and me

The Williams

Lovely Ladies

The Williams grandsons (minus one)...my brother is the pea-head in the middle...LOL

Sunday morning: Mr. Major bed-head and Miss Not in the mood for pictures....

Hope you're enjoying your Monday!

PS: What do you think of my new header? I did it all by myself. I just needed a change and I wanted a picture of Maggie in it....be honest if you hate it!
